About the Institute for Independent Business (IIB)

The Institute for Independent Business (IIB) and IIB Anglia Group

IIB Anglia Group is a regional group of Executive Associates and Fellows, accredited by the Institute for Independent Business (IIB).

The IIB is a not-for-profit research training and accreditation organisation. It was established in 1984 to give independent businesses direct access to some of the country's top business people, to make practical advice and timely ideas accessible.

The network of Associates accredited by the IIB is probably the largest and most effective support organisation of its type in the world. Thousands of senior professionals have been accredited by the Institute, operating in over 35 countries.

Working with independent businesses mostly within the SME sector, the network of Associates can provide senior executives to address any aspect of your business whenever and wherever it is required.

IIB Executive Associates

All IIB Executive Associates who attend meetings with Managing Directors and Owners of businesses are themselves senior executives from any and every profession, background and industry imaginable.

Almost all our Executives are mature business people who have been Chief Executives, Managing Directors or Executive Board Directors themselves. They have experienced first hand the pressures, stresses and joys of running a business. In short, our Executive Associates have 'been there, seen it, and survived to tell the story'!

To achieve accreditation by the IIB, our members have to be suitably qualified and experienced, with a track record of success in their field of specialisation, but have also had additional training by the Institute to apply the more general analytical approach required to provide advice to the independent business sector. Key to selection is the ability to provide practical hands-on implementation of sound business ideas. Independent business welcome the hand-on approach we can offer instead of consultancy and reports.

Once accredited, Associates use the honorific AInstIB. Those elected to fellowship use FInstIB.
